The Proper Tool
“Ways To A Better Life”

A. The proper tool makes all the difference in the world. Several years ago I was replacing the
screen in some windows. All I had was a Phillips?head screwdriver and was using that to
insert the rubber lining of the screen. It was tedious, laborious and slow.
1. And then a friend asked, “Why don’t you use a screening tool?” And proceeded to tell me how it worked and how quick and easy it was. I asked, “Do you have one.? He did, I borrowed it, and did a much better job, twice as fast with half the effort. What’s the point? Having the proper tool made all the difference.
a. It occurs to me that many, many people live their lives without implementing "the
proper tool." Let me ask a rhetorical question: "How would you like to live a better
life, accomplish twice as much...with a fraction of the stress?"
(A) Well, you can! You do it by living your life according to God's word. I'm afraid most
people live by their own rules and then, at best, ask God to help them with the rest.
(1) But the Bible instructs us to do just the opposite. First you find out how God intends for us to live life...and then adjust our lives accordingly.
2. Sometimes we think that refusing to submit to God's will, or disregarding Him altogether results in....OUR BEST.
(1) But, living your life for God, by submitting to His word, and trusting in His leadership results in.... HIS BEST. Do you understand what I’m talking about? Do you understand the difference? If not, please let me explain it to you......What's the difference?
(2) It's the difference between trying to get to the moon on a space shuttle...or trying to get there on a trampoline!
(3) Acts 20:32.
